Artists Speak | Yehudit Sasportas

Date:
6.5.24

The Department of Fine Arts invites you to the "Artists Speak" event series.

This time, Prof. Yehudit Sasportas, a multidisciplinary artist and lecturer in the department, will be a guest in the series, and she will talk about two international exhibitions in which she is featured - a solo exhibition at Sommer Contemporary Art, and a group exhibition at the Arter Museum in Istanbul.

In her lecture, Sasportas will review The Liquid Desert project, which she expanded on in “Exposure” - the Haaretz newspaper's photography blog: "Liquid Desert is an unusual art project in principle of its operation and appearance in the public space, which seeks to reflect the contents of our hidden collective subconscious space into the space of consciousness and the visible physical reality, and in this way to flood unresolved conflicts and instances of fracture and tension. For years I have been engaged in artistic mapping of the subconscious and the data housed within it, as an active life force, but imprisoned in time. I do this through works of sculpture, photography, and sound in charged fringe zones that exist in the urban space and in nature. The goal is to articulate a charged sensory experience that is non-verbal.'
