The Excellence in Art Project with JDC-Israel
In the context of this project, outstanding students from Bezalel coach and teach outstanding art pupils at "excellence centers" that are being established in Israel's social periphery.
Several excellence centers in the periphery, particularly in the Galilee, will be operated by outstanding students from Bezalel who will coach groups of outstanding art pupils according to their respective specialties. This year, one excellence center has operated in Upper Nazareth, as a pilot.
The program is a part of a social course at Bezalel. Students chosen to participate in the program receive scholarships.
The program has a dual objective: to promote outstanding students and train them in coaching other outstanding students (within Bezalel), and to nurture and encourage outstanding art pupils in Israel's social periphery.
The ultimate goal of the program is to lead to a social change through education for excellence, culture and art as a way to success and personal empowerment, for the pupils and for Israeli society.
