Yovel Jones Tamara

1945- Born in Haifa, Israel.
1963- Finished “Reali” high school, in Haifa.
1966- Studied fashion design in the “Export Institute”.
1967- Designed costumes for David Perlov’s film: “The Pill”.
1967-1968- Training period in London: Studies in the “V&A” museum,designing for the fashion factory “Barnes”.
1968-1973- Opened the first boutique in Jerusalem, “Very Boutique”and then a design studio in Tel-Aviv, “Tamara”.
1968-1973- Designed a young line of evening and wedding dresses using various ethnic crafts for “Maskit”
1973-1981- Was the designer of “Roberto Cavalli” in Florence, Italy.
1975- Fashion consultant for the government of Guatemala- designed a collection using the textiles of the Maya Indians for exportation uses.
1982- Had an exhibition of Art To Wear in collaboration with the artists Eera Rawshwerger in “Gallery 131/2” in Jaffa of huge dressed fabric statues. The exhibition then moved to the Jerusalem Theater Lobby, and was then shown in the “Gallery of Wearable Art”, Broadway, New York.
1984-1990- Had a high fashion studio in Jaffa and then in Tel-Aviv, “Tamara”.
1984-1990- Designed a number of knitwear, leather –Ginget, swimming costumes for Rikma collections for export.
1990-1996- Was the designer of “Roberto Cavalli” in Florence, Italy.
1998- Was head of design studio of “Roberto Cavalli”.
1986-1990- Final project tutor at “Shenkar” fashion college, Israel.
1991-2008- Senior lecturer in fashion department at “Shenkar College” Israel
1990- Started creating sculptured lamps made of fabrics and epoxy.
2001- Had an exhibition of the lamp collection in Tel-Aviv- at Ben-Simhon Gallery.
2004-2006-Head of Fashion Design Department "Shenkar"
2008- 2010-Fashion design supervisor at "Roberto Cavalli" studio in Florence .
2010-now- consultant and couch to young designers and graduates of fashion design academys.
