Contemporary Art Workshop

Jerusalem Art Workshop
Summer 2010

August 15-28
Undergraduate studio credit available. $3,000

Bezalel Academy's Jerusalem Art Workshop is an intense two-week, hands-on program designed for art students and enthusiasts.  Multidisciplinary in its span, the program draws on art and culture to provide participants with tools to create a visual journal of their experience.
Using diverse mediums of creative expression including drawing, painting, sculpting, and photography, participants will develop their skills while exploring the local culture.

A Fusion of Art and Culture

Integral to the program is the extracurricular activity. Throughout the duration of the program students will take part in organized excursions as well as visits to museums, galleries, and artist studios. The city of Jerusalem, a crossroad of cultures, religions, and empires will be explored. Contradictory and shrouded in mystic, we will discover Jerusalem as it is rarely seen by tourists- a rich mosaic of cultures and communities.

Workshops will take place Monday through Thursday, 9:30 am to 3:30 pm, and will be located in the center of Jerusalem in the historic Jaffa Street on the edge of East and West. Guided tours of Jerusalem and surrounding areas will take place during the weekends and afternoons.

Tuition includes double-occupancy accommodations, basic art supplies, daily breakfast and lunch, guided tours and admission to museums. Prerequisites: passion for art and discovery. Participants must be at least 18 years old.
