The External Studies Department under the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design Jerusalem was created to answer the ongoing need for enrichment of knowledge and broadening horizons in the field of Art, Design and Creativity. The diverse courses are open to the public and enrolling in the Department doesn't require preliminary conditions or prior qualifications.
The curriculum is developed with the help of the Academic Faculty of Bezalel and is under control and supervision of the Academy's Management Board. The studies in the Department bring to the public the highest innovations and contemporary philosophies from the academic world, through the utilization of advanced technological infrastructures and leading workshops in their field.
The courses and the workshops offered by the Department are carried out in small groups to allow a creative and dynamic studying experience through personal guidance and care by the academic staff.
The courses are taught in a number of locations: The Hansen House in the Talbia neighborhood in Jerusalem, the historic building of Bezalel in the city center of Jerusalem, the Bezalel Campus at Mount Scopus and additional rotating locations in Tel Aviv. The administration offices are based in the restored Hansen House which serves as the center of Design and Technology and the residence of the advanced studies offered by the Bezalel Academy.
