Bezalel 2011: Graduates Exhibition
Shir Pins, They Say There Are Five Entrances to 8 Nathan Ha’navi Street
, 2011, Graduated 2011, Jewelry and Fashion

Today I woke up to the sound of flip flops shuffling down the street. Then a baby stroller, the sound muted, growing louder, and again fading away. A man and a woman greet one another, inquire about the wife and kids, they’ve probably lived here for years. I hear the pattering of rain. Suddenly everything grows quiet. Or have the upstairs neighbors just flushed their toilet? They say there are five entrances to 8 Natan Ha’Navi, from three different streets, so far I’ve only found three. Voices from the playground, church bells, a child screaming, birds chirping, someone drilling through a wall, or is he mowing the lawn? Someone listening to the radio, a Muezzin calling, someone talking on his cell-phone. Everything blends together in a strange sort of harmony, one sound inseparable from another. I always have this need to attach some kind of identity to the sounds; it’s just too strange that they’re all anonymous.
