Izchak Daznziger created Hoshen as a proposal for the synagogue of the Technion University Haifa, but the sculpture didn’t have the substance to be, it’s existence stayed only as a model. Hoshen was made as a modernistic form, as a translation of a metaphysical idea, a derivative of an ancient Jewish paganism ceremony - a necklace made of 12 stones (as the 12 tribes) that was hanged on a Cohen’s neck at the time of the event. Something in the idea of the monument that has never existed made me react to it, revive it, give it a sculptural being in a sense of a reversal moment, almost back to its jewelry form.
