בניין המטה היה גורד השחקים הראשון שנבנה בברלין לאחר נפילת החומה בשנת 1989. שיקום המרחב העירוני ההיסטורי, הכולל סט של חמישה נפחים נפרדים, מחבר את שברי העיר בקומפוזיציה תלת-מימדית שאפשרה לשלב מגדל משרדים. לצורך פיתוח הבניין נעשה שימוש בפתרונות ארכיטקטוניים ועירוניים, כמו גם באמצעים חדשניים של הנדסת מכונות על בסיס אוורור טבעי. גובה הבניין מזכיר שמדובר באחד הפרוייקטים העיקריים של השיקום לאחר מלחמת העולם השנייה. המגדל, אחד הבניינים המזוהים ביותר בעיר, מציג עקומה חלקה ונגיעה צבעונית במרכז העיר.

פרוייקט המטה הוא חלק מההרצאה המרתקת של המשרד, אשר ידונו בהיבטים של קיימות במבני ציבור, תוך הצגת פרוייקטים מהעבר והווה שלל הפרקטיקה והחזון האדריכלי שלהם.

The headquarters building was the first skyscraper built in Berlin after the fall of the Wall in 1989. The restoration of the historic urban space, which includes a set of five separate volumes, connects the city's fragments with a three-dimensional composition that allowed an office tower to be integrated. Architectural and urban solutions, as well as innovative mechanical engineering based on natural ventilation, were used to develop the building. The height of the building is reminiscent of one of the main post-WWII reconstruction projects.
