Industrial Design (B. Des)

The course deals with the meeting points between design and production processes. During the course the students will gain understanding of the influence technology has on design activity and various ways of adapting design to industrial production processes. The course is built on a series of exercises, each relating to a specific technology. In each of these exercises the student will employ a stage-by-stage process of planning, development and production. Lectures and on-site tours will accompany issues such as history of technology, material & structure, mechanisms, moulds, casting and more.
