Industrial Design (B. Des)

Chanan de Lange, Liora Rosin, Dov Ganchrow From Outside the System/From Within the System (“ehad le-revava” revival) We live surrounded by systems; some occur naturally others are man-made. Some systems are virtual while others are physical, many systems also overlap. As individuals we can simultaneously participate in social systems, while utilizing the transportation system, and navigating an information system. Understanding and being aware of a system, is a prerequisite for expanding-on or upgrading a system as well as for tampering, corrupting, or disrupting a system. The course will highlight two different attitudes to designing into systems; first the free-spirited, expressive, critical, outsiders stance. Secondly, the pragmatic, responsible and collaborative position will be exercised. Designing from outside the system and designing from within the system.
