Proseminar for the Department of Art

This course will present varied methodological and theoretical approaches to the analysis, experience and interpretation of the artistic object, action and production. Among the theories and methodologies to be discussed are post-colonialism, psychoanalysis, feminism, and the relation between art and politics. We will read central texts in the field of art and interpretation and discuss works of contemporary art and the discourse around them.
