From Graphic Design to Visual Communication

This course introduces the theoretical, philosophical, and historical foundations of graphic design, from the invention of printing to the present day. We will explore how visual language creates meaning; how design responds to political, economic, and technological changes; how visual expressions are shaped in relation to emerging social and aesthetic ideologies; and how graphic designers, product designers, artists, and architects have influenced each other throughout history.
