The goal of this course is to expose the student to the philosophical discourse on the meaning and stature of the western culture's history. The starting point for the historical reading is the assumption of a clear connection between the status of the matter in literature and the status of the aesthetical experience in culture. The course will follow the development perspective on materialistic existence from the classical age to this day from a philosophical stand point, by focusing on the connections between philosophy to other subjects, the like of: psychology, sociology, and anthropology. Likewise the course will exemplify the ideas being taught by exposing oneself to different types of art like: Plastic art, literature, Cinematic, Modeling and Architecture.
