The pursuit of gender equality is applicable to every aspect of the Academy and all its professional and social spaces.
In March 2018, Bezalel initiated a structured work process to promote gender equality consistent with the process being conducted throughout Israel’s higher education system, maintaining accepted academic standards and without compromising Bezalel's unique status as an art and design academy.
With this in mind, the Academy will define promotion based on skills and achievements while also maintaining equal opportunities and gender employment balance in teaching and administrative positions, and will create unbiased learning spaces with appropriate rights and adjustments for all students, regardless of gender.
Ruth Kantor, a senior lecturer in the Department of Visual Communication, is the President's Advisor for the Promotion of Gender Equality at Bezalel.
