The course will discuss architecture through a historical axis: from the pyramids of Giza in ancient Egypt to the transparent pyramid of the Louvre, from the Greek temples to the White House, and from ancient Roman cities to the city of New York. The course will provide tools for analyzing architectural structures and identifying architectural styles in different geographical and cultural spaces. Understanding the architecture of the past will provide a basis for deepening and enriching knowledge as well as the possibility of analyzing contemporary structures. We will also deal with aterials, technologies and the perception of space and time in architecture
