A research course in the field of design in Israel, in which we will review key moments in local design and examine representative objects in the design of Israeli identity. The classes will combine lectures alongside hands-on research tools workshops. These tools will help us examine how the objects created and formed the collective identity in Israel, what kind of Israeli identity the items represent, how the designed objects created the Israeli identity, and who was behind this identity creation.

As part of the course, the students will conduct a critical study of items from the historic Bezalel archive, and take an active part in the research and documentation of complex local histories.
