Bag as Icon

When the value of a bag like the Hermès Birkin, named after the late actress and singer Jane Birkin, is actually more stable and better performing than gold or the stock market, one can understand the magnitude of the passion for bags. In the course ‘Bag as Icon,’ one is asked to choose a classic/ historical/ iconic bag and create a bag that responds to it or changes it substantially according to a concept of personal choice. In the course, we will emphasize the use of reused leather, sustainable materials and techniques, with particular attention to the creation of new, original materials from A to Z. Course participants will have the opportunity to express, create and react in a statement of any kind  - respectful, humorous, critical, reflexive, ironic, political, personal ... to the well know iconic bags.
