In recent years, technology & coding have been steadily propagating into the world of designers. Many designers and illustrators are writing code, using different tech tools, working with visual programming, engaging in different forms of hacking and using technology creatively to enrich their spectrum of expression. The course invites young designers & illustrators to experiment in design processes that involve technological creativity. Working with audio, video, image, touch, interaction, keyboards, mice, gamepads, etc. to create rich visual & interactive experiences. As part of the course, we will work with an experimental tool from Apple called Quartz Composer. QC helps designers, VJs and other creatives prototype and experiment with media, rich visuals and interactivity and is widely used for prototyping interactive experiences at companies like Facebook. This course is a wonderful fit for enthusiastic students eager to learn how to experiment with technology, get their hands dirty & make things work. Students are not required to have any prior programming knowledge. We will start from scratch, and use our design skills to hack our way through and create awesome work.
