A game is an interactive creation that combines all the tools of the visual communication arsenal- Concept, narrative, design, typography, illustration, animation, user interface, user experience and some coding. During the course each student will conceptualize, design and build an original and working digital game. This will be done through learning the potential of code as a creative tool for designers, focusing on interactive design and game design. During the course we will examine examples of existing games, generative art and user interfaces, and work with ready-made examples to learn principles and technics. This course is intended for creative and curious students that are interested in designing games and being introduced to the potential of coding, the possibilities of creation in the virtual space and of expanding their existing tool set. Coding wise, the studio explores only very basic coding techniques and does not require any previous knowledge.
