Web Design studio

The availability of design templates (such as Wix) and the hegemony of the ready-made tools offered to professionals (such as Google Material Design), constitute a body of knowledge that allows building a "correct" site, in terms of usability and graphic solutions – but also gives rise to generic design, a comfort zone that dominates the network, and does not push forward the design quality of the web. The aim of the studio "Excellent Web Design" is to challenge the tools and conventions in such a young field that is evolving at an accelerated pace. Like other design disciplines with richer traditions, we will apply practices that extend the range of possible design solutions to a given information architecture. We will not hesitate to revisit the UX with a reverse engineering concept, as design must not only function, but also lead. Students will be given the architecture of an existing website and lead a responsive site design process. The studio will be led by two lecturers, from the interactive and design fields.
