Moving Posters

Posters are a micro-cosmos of visual communication. As a popular format for delivering messages, posters design deals with the relations of text and image, grid, concept and the expression of a designer’s personal visual capability. In this course, we add the skill of delivering a message over time, through animation and video, to the equation, by creating a series of moving video posters. A moving poster needs to deal with a circular time-line, the creation of evolving imagery, and a breathing, flexible, typography and grid design. In the course the students will design moving posters, starting with developing the concept and delivering a clear message, through creating images in an animated context and motion typography, and ending with the format of presentation in public space.
