The seminar will offer a conceptual and historical discussion of capitalism, and the manners in which cultural production (TV, Cinema, art and literature) represents it. The seminar’s starting point will be the phrase, “It is easier to imagine the end of the world than it is to imagine the end of capitalism. As such, the seminar will deal with the relations between capitalism, culture and our concepts of history and time. The second part of the seminar will explicitly engage with our current historical epoch – the neoliberal time – and its cultural production.
