The course's primary goal is to give students hands-on experience working as independent fashion designers, from concept development to inspiration, research, and creation. Each fashion designer has a unique process for coming up with an idea and a collection. The course will look at several methods used by fashion designers. Whether it is a work inspired by an abstract idea or a concrete formal setting. We will study pioneering fashion designers in this course and analyze their design approaches. We will look at the method by which they gather information to create a new collection all the way to the stage of the finished garment on the fashion runway, store, gallery, museum, etc.

In the course, students will learn how to create clothing elements practically and build their own design language. We will first do a practical exercise involving reused clothing before concentrating on a personal project in which each student will select a "strategy" and acquire cutting and sewing technical tools from graduates of the Department of Fashion and Jewelry.
