Sustainable Design and Development in English

This course will focus on eco-design and sustainable development. Students will gain basic knowledge in sustainability that will function as a foundation for a personal value system and professional literacy that will be used in their disciplinary studies and design.

Since the course will be taught in English, it will allow students to improve their English oral presentation skills, reading comprehension, and academic writing. As a result, this course will impact the students' overall ability to successfully participate at higher academic levels and in international initiatives. Students will learn about SDG11 - Making cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable, and SDG12 - Ensuring sustainable consumption and production patterns. For the final assignment, the whole class will work together on the foundations for an international conference on sustainable design and development.
