Time 10:00 - 13:00

As part of the course, we will try to analyze and identify the creative process underlying non-narrative animation works while comparing it with creative processes in other fields and with scientific research processes. Inspired by the identified processes, each student will formulate a "research question" which he will investigate using theoretical, conceptual, visual means and animation tools. The product of the course will be an artist's book that constitutes a "research proposal" and formulates a methodology for animated research, as well as a number of "animated experiments" that examine the proposal. It is possible and even desirable to use the work process within the course as an accompanying process for projects in parallel courses - a third year film, a third year diary or a final film of the course dealing with processes of creative research when the emphasis is on - definition of motivation/"research question"/idea/direction, Searching for methodologies to develop the research question, making a decision as to how the research results are mediated to the viewer. The students will become familiar with the research processes of various creators, define their own research question for the work of the semester, and during the class create three "sequences" using a digital technique of their choice that are "experiments" examining their research question under a defined framework. At the end of the course, the students will choose how to present the research results, when they are not obligated to reach a finished product and can be satisfied with a detailed and clear sketch.
