The urban landscape includes the built environment along with the natural systems that constitute the essential infrastructure of the city: from vegetation to microclimates to water systems. The aim of the course is to provide students with a theoretical and practical basis for designing the urban landscape, and to raise key issues in field, from historical, cultural, social and ecological perspectives. The course will include lectures and class discussions based on weekly readings and the presentation of case studies in Israel and around the world.
