Material Lab

A growing trend of designers today begins its creative journey from a material perspective. They called themselves "material designers".
The motivations to start with material design are varied. Some of them stem from climate change and the desire to suggest an alternative for current use of energy, some stem from the desire to produce an identifiable and unique material language, some stem from curiosity regarding the source of the raw materials and the geopolitical context behind it, and others represent the desire to enjoy an unmediated encounter with materials and processes.

The course will act as an experimental material laboratory where we will dive into different narratives of materials, we will look for the contexts and relationships of the designer with the culture,  environment,  industry and the raw materials around him. We will design processes and  a personal toolbox for CMF processes, and above all we will experiment, search, create, ask, and combine existing materials into new materials.
