About

The establishment and development of the Nathan Drahi Center, and through it the strengthening of research and innovation at the Academy, is an important strategic step for Bezalel on its new campus. Encompassing almost 10,000 sq. meters, the Drahi Center’s mission and goals are as follows:

• The Drahi Center consolidate key research and innovation activities of the Academy's disciplines and departments and become a hub for these activities and their impact.
• The Drahi Center will pioneer the convergence of art, design, technology, innovation and science to positively address complex challenges confronting humanity, reinforcing the innate strength of artists and designers to constantly imagine and re-imagine a better world, helping to translate thoughts and ideas into useful and practical applications and inventive enterprises.
• The Drahi Center will serve to expand interdisciplinary efforts, create an new opportunities and enhance the role of artists and designers in variety of areas and directions.
• The Drahi Center will spearhead and encourage the development of research and innovation across Bezalel, provide our faculty with the means to engage and spend time exploring new ideas and advance art and design led research and innovation, on a recognized academic level.
• The Drahi Center will expand existing alliances and affiliations in Israel and abroad and build new partnerships, collaborative projects and entrepreneurial relationships with a vast network of universities and R&D centres, private companies, startups and non-profits.

The initial years of operation of the Nathan Drahi Research and Innovation Center will be very important and critical in setting its path towards success. Its development, structure, and operations are ambitious and strive to ascertain quick and impactful results within a short period.
