Dr. Shir Aloni Yaari

Dr. Shir Aloni Yaari is an art historian specialising in modern and contemporary art. Her research focuses on theories and representations of the body, trauma and memory, on feminist art and thought, and on the dialogue between aesthetics and psychoanalysis. After completing a PhD at the Courtauld Institute of Art, London, Shir continued teaching and leading an MA programme at the Courtauld. She has since worked as a curator at the Israel Museum, while teaching at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and Levinsky College of Education. She currently teaches in the Department of Visual and Material Culture at Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, Jerusalem.
