Art on the Edge: Sovereignty, Discipline, and Security in the Russian Compound of Jerusalem
The summer course deals with the immediate surroundings of the new Bezalel campus focusing on how the neighboring
institutions of the campus and their symbolic representations reflect on the academy and its communities. The multidisciplinary background of the students meets the neighbouring public institutions that include the Jerusalem municipality, Jerusalem District Magistrate's Court, Central Detention Facility at Jerusalem's Russian Compound, Church of the Holy Trinity and Museum of Underground Prisoners leading to a better understanding of how the fields of art, design and culture participate in the Israeli public discourse .
