The Jerusalem School

The aim of the course is to introduce the distinctive character of Jerusalem’s cultural landscape, both historical and contemporary. The course will combine classroom lectures with field trips, during which we will meet artists and cultural leaders working in various fields, including visual art, performance art, theater, and screen-based arts, as well as policymakers who will discuss the particular nature of working in the city. We will explore Jerusalem’s unique cultural scene, characterized by collective, protest-oriented, and multicultural activity, among other features.
