Final Project Seminar

The Final Project seminar is, to a large extent, the culmination of the B.A. program in Visual and Material Culture. By the end of the course, students will present an original and mature capstone project in the field of visual and material culture. 

During the first semester, students will identify a topic in visual and material culture that they wish to investigate, formulate an appropriate methodology for studying the chosen topic, and begin exploring it through relevant theoretical and practical approaches. At the end of the semester, they will present a project proposal.

During the second semester, students will develop their proposed project through both theoretical and practical work under close supervision, and will determine the most effective way to present the findings of their investigation. At the end of the course, they will submit their individual projects. 

The course aims to train students to identify specific issues within visual and material culture, investigate them in depth, and develop creative and well-reasoned ways of presenting their research insights. As a result of the research conducted in the course, students refine their research skills, employ the theoretical and practical methods they have acquired throughout their degree, and gain experience in conducting independent and original research.
