Understanding Animation

Animation is a wonderous artform that inherently addresses issues at the heart of being- Life, Time, Movement. At the same time, it's complicated and expensive to produce, highly susceptible to technological and financial turmoil, and its' current status is shakier than ever. In the course we'll learn how since the very beginning animation was forged by the world's constraints; we'll challenge genres and definitions, connect theory to creative practice; We'll watch exemplary animation- from the great masters to the dark corners of the web, and realize that Animation has understood us for a long time- so it's about time we understand it as well.
