The design and innovation studio of the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design Jerusalem, which operates inside Soroka Hospital in Be'er Sheva, combines design solutions for human experiences in the hospital.

The studio has been operating in Soroka for about three years and each year the studio consists of between 8 and 12 students from the Department of Industrial Design and the School of Architecture, and in the past year, students from the Department of Visual Communication and the Department of Visual and Material Culture joined the studio.

At the beginning of the war, the students participated in an emergency studio and provided design solutions to problems encountered during emergency situations, such as a stretcher to protect the privacy of the wounded, a mural painting on children's MRI shielding, and the design of relaxation and rest spaces for the medical staff working around the clock in routine and emergency situations.

In the last semester, the students have worked on improving orientation in the hospital in an emergency, providing a sense of spatial certainty to the population in times of emergency and stress, and providing organizational and design tools to optimize triage (sorting of the injured) in an emergency. In about two weeks, the products of the studio will be submitted to the management of Soroka Hospital.
