International conference | Multiplicities in Aesthetics and Art
The Department of Visual and Material Culture, in collaboration with Shenkar - Engineering. Design. Art and Mercy University, New York, invites you to a conference on the topic of 'Multiplicity in Aesthetics and Art'.
In an era characterized by a striving for unity - and thus also for totality - in political, social, and media contexts, it is important to stress the ongoing presence of multiplicity. The notion of multiplicity is tied to values of diversity and singularity, and therefore it is pluralistic by nature and cannot be subsumed under a universal generalization. The conference - bringing together lecturers from various institutions in Israel and abroad - will address the theme of multiplicity in relation to art, design, curatorial practices, and aesthetic theories.
