26.2.23

The Art & Design Teaching Center, in collaboration with Laboratory 212, is pleased to invite lecturers and students from the institutions that are members of the JLM Impact Association (The Hebrew University, Azrieli Academic College of Engineering and Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design Jerusalem), to apply for DaydreamerZ - a design-led program which offers its participants an accelerated process for research on and development of new teaching and learning formats in relation to the challenges of Generation Z in higher education.

Up to 24 participants will be admitted to the program, and will work together in four multidisciplinary and multi-institutional development teams around shared ideas (one idea per group). The formats that will be developed can be of different types (forms of teaching, learning and assessment, physical and digital teaching and learning tools, processes and services, learning environments...), at different standards (lesson, course, curriculum, faculty, academy...) and in different contexts (teaching, learning, research , entrepreneurship, academic management, administrative management, etc.).

The program will take place throughout the months of May-June 2023 in the format of 5 days of intensive learning and work, in which the participants will receive all the conditions for effective work and learning in a short time: access to current knowledge, experts, prototype designers, field tests, contextual learning, templates and formats, inspiration, work space, food, and accommodation if necessary.

The purpose of the program is to allow the participants to develop concrete and practical products that they can implement in their courses, programs, and institutions, distribute to other fields, submit to conferences, and grant recruitment.

The meeting schedule:

  • 1.5, Monday, 10:00-17:00 — Division into groups, selection and initial formulation of ideas
  • 2.5, Tuesday, 10:00-17:00 — Conducting research, and deepening the challenge and idea
  • 7.6, Wednesday, 10:00-18:00 — Developing the idea and illustrating it (prototyping)
  • 8.6, Thursday, 10:00-17:00 — Conducting user tests and improving the products
  • 29.6, Thursday, 10:00-17:00 — Demo Day, presentation and distribution of the products to interested parties

Applications can be submitted until 29.3.23. For submission and additional details, see the full program page.

The association was established with the aim of encouraging researchers, lecturers and students to walk the paths of innovation and entrepreneurship and to develop the city of Jerusalem as an environment with an innovative-entrepreneurial culture. Together, the JLM IMPACT innovation consortium harnesses the power of design, engineering, and science to promote a positive impact in Jerusalem and the world.
