Reuven Kuperman, a lecturer in the Department of Photography and the Department of Visual and Material Culture, is the winner of the 2024 Discount Award at the Herzliya Museum.

The Discount Prize for the encouragement of creativity is awarded every year at the Herzliya Museum of Contemporary Art to an Israeli artist. The art committee of the Discount Bank chooses the winner from among the artists of the exhibitions planned at the Herzliya Museum for that year.

From the reasoning of the judging committee: "Kuperman's work, which is characterized by a special pictorial virtuosity, gives expression to hybrid representations that merge classical and contemporary culture and between East and West." In his works, Kuperman creates fantastic, dystopian worlds, while basing himself on a variety of sources, traditions and mythologies until creating an image lacking a clear source. In his artistic activity, he succeeds in bringing together different concepts and styles and creates rich and dreamy imaginary spaces, which invite the viewer to prolonged observation.'
