שבוע סדנאות - The Art of Awareness / Michael McDevitt
This workshop will be led by Michael McDevitt, a leading New-York born designer, cofounder of Illegal Art. Established in the summer of 2001, Illegal Art is an international collective of artists whose goal is to create participatory-based public art to inspire self-reflection, thought and human connection. Each piece is presented or distributed in a method in which participation is simple and encouraged.
The workshop will explore “The Art of Awareness” and how it can be used to better see, interact, and raise awareness within ourselves — and of those around us.
Big and small exercises and projects will take us from the ivory towers of Bezalel Academy to the streets of Jerusalem to discover beauty, patterns, and stories in the everyday — and to engage the people of Jerusalem to express themselves, share their stories, and help them see the world around them just a little bit differently. And if done well, we will see our own world differently as well.
Michael McDevitt, a distinguished New-York based designer currently residing in Israel. His practice encompasses, on the one hand, brand development and, on the other, community-engaged projects situated within the urban environment, as part of Illegal Art collective.
